The Anaheim Ducks are back home after a less than stellar road trip. The coaches and the captain don’t seem to be happy. Hopefully, a short stint at home can rejuvenate the team.

The Anaheim Ducks‘ latest road trip ended on a sour note with a 6-2 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The loss was one of many the Ducks have sustained over the past few weeks, dropping 8 of their last 10 contests. While it is not ideal for the team to be losing after a coaching change and roster reconstruction, it has been a heavy reminder lately that this team is, in fact, in a “re-tool” and may not be close to the end.

Dallas Eakins has been preaching aggression in front of the net. The Ducks need to loosen up in other areas of the ice, but their main goals going forward need to be scoring goals and protecting the net. John Gibson cannot carry the team solely by himself, as is evident by the recent scores. Spending some time at home, and getting a little bit of adequate rest will hopefully help the Ducks get back on track, focus on what is important, and find the spirit and energy to come out with guns blazing against the New York Islanders tonight.

The New York Islanders are currently -121 on the Moneyline via the Action Network. The Anaheim Ducks lackluster performance on their latest road trip, and their less than stellar performance last time they were home could be a big contributing factor as to why the Islanders are the favorite to win tonight.
