Tonight’s 1,000th game milestone at Honda Center puts a lot of pressure on the Anaheim Ducks to end their homestand, against the San Jose Sharks, on a high note.

Wins, Losses, and legends. The Anaheim Ducks, and their fans, have witnessed every high and all the lows under the roof of Honda Center. 26 years later, the Ducks are lacing up their skates to play in their 1,000th game at the Ponda. While many other NHL teams passed the threshold of 1,000 home games decades ago, this is an exciting milestone for a small-market franchise.

The homestand hasn’t gone as well as we had all hoped. The Ducks blew some significant leads and lost against teams they had no right losing against. However, with the Sharks in town tonight, it puts even more pressure on the Ducks to perform well during their 1,000th home game, and end their homestand on a high note.

More from Ducks News

Dallas Eakins will need to make wiser coaching decisions tonight if he wants his team to have any chance at winning tonight. Goaltending has been a weakness for the Sharks, and that should be something the Anaheim Ducks offense should focus on. The defense must be sharp, and it might serve the team well if Eakins sits Korbinian Holzer and allows Michael Del Zotto to slot in instead.

Anaheim Ducks Betting Odds & Lines

Courtesy of our friends at the Action Network, the San Jose Sharks are -115 on the Moneyline. However, they aren’t predicted to win by much, seeing as how the Anaheim Ducks are -105 on the Moneyline. This could be due to the fact that the Sharks beat the Edmonton Oilers during their last contest and the Ducks blew a 2 goal lead to drop their game to Detriot in Overtime.

Both teams have struggled, however, so a San Jose Sharks win over Edmonton may not hold much stock. The Ducks defeated the Sharks during their last meeting, which could be a big reason the Sharks aren’t higher on the Moneyline. It’s going to be a close game if both teams play to the best of their ability.
