With the Detroit Red Wings in town, the Anaheim Ducks hope to shake their losing streak and get back in the win column tonight.

Over the past three games, the Anaheim Ducks‘ deficiencies have been brought to light. In a sense, it could be a good thing, considering this gives Dallas Eakins, the coaching staff, and the team a better idea of what they need to improve upon. However, if the team cannot band together and find a solution for these problems, other teams are going to play upon their deficits.

The Red Wings come into tonight’s game riding the high of a two-game win streak. Recently defeating two teams that are considered tough opponents will give them a considerable amount of motivation going into tonight’s game. Their 6-12-1 season record, however, is evidence of a host of team-wide issues. Much like the Ducks, their special teams are weak, and they’ve spent their fair share of time in the penalty box this season as well.

Brendan Guhle enters the lineup for the Anaheim Ducks after spending a short stint with San Diego. There is a lot of concern about his health and how prone to injury he is. However, having him back in the lineup will aid the Ducks lethargic blueline. The absence of the Hampus Lindholm and Josh Manson pairing has been noticeable, and not in a good way.

More from Ducks News

If the Ducks can find their scoring touch and make some progress in their own zone, they shouldn’t have too many issues keeping up with the Red Wings. Detroit is dealing with their own host of injuries, which will likely have an effect on their performance. It will likely be a close game, and if it isn’t, it is because the pressure will be too much for one team to handle. The Red Wings would be a great team for Eakins to experiment and try new things against in order to find solutions for the nagging issues his team has been dealing with over the past few games.
