Despite a tough overtime loss against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, the Anaheim Ducks are back tonight to take on a tough Minnesota Wild team. It will be a very big game for the early standings for both teams.

More from Pucks of a Feather

The Anaheim Ducks are three games into their seven-game home-stand, and they are about to play game number four against the Wild tonight. Minnesota is 4-5-1 over their last ten games, and so far they are 4-9-1 on the season. Things have been pretty rough in the early goings for Minnesota, and they are just coming off an overtime loss.

For the Ducks, they are 5-4-1 over their last ten and are much higher up in the west with a record of 9-6-1. Despite coming off an overtime loss, the Anaheim Ducks have looked better as a team over the home-stand so far, and it’s going to be up to them to play well enough to stay in a good position in the standings.

Minnesota is being led by Eric Staal who is the leader of all three major team categories. He has been on fire as of late with four goals, six assists, and ten points overall on the young season. For Anaheim, the trio of Adam Henrique, Hampus Lindholm, and Jakob Silfverberg have all been spurred on by head coach Dallas Eakins to bring out their best abilities. Although Minnesota is being led by one player, it will still be a tough match-up against a Wild team that wants revenge for their last OT loss. Unlike the previous game against the Blackhawks, the Anaheim Ducks need to get off to a better start that could easily be generated by Ondrej Kase making it back into the line-up.

Anaheim Ducks Betting Odds & Lines

Thanks to the Action Network, we can see that the Anaheim Ducks are favored by -125. Minnesota is a seemingly lost team with plenty of their own struggles. Anaheim is 2-0-1 on their home-stand and they have improved a lot as a team, so it isn’t hard to see how they could be favored by just a bit.

Games aren’t always as easy as they seem, though. For the Ducks to have that slight betting advantage, they will have to earn it early on by starting off better than they did against Chicago. It will be a very interesting game despite the outcome.

Game Time Forecast

By the start of the game tonight, Anaheim will be a nice and cool 67°F, so the weather will be perfect inside and out of the Honda Center.
