The Anaheim Ducks 2018-19 season is long over, but the question still remains. What could next season bring?
Pain? Agony? Could next year be part two, a mirror image of the “Silver Celebration” where when the final horn of the game sounds, you feel a sense of relief that the season is almost finished? Will we get used to silence at the Pond? Then just like on Sundays, when Wild Wing is coming down from the rafters, you are imagining the Anaheim Ducks season doing the same.
Will it be another season where the opposition out-cheers the outnumbered Duck fans in the stands while your team is being outshot, outscored, and in general outplayed. Perhaps, this season beginnings exactly how last season ended or this upcoming season we could actually see a team that will live up to the code of what we see in “Anaheim Ducks hockey.”

Last season, there were many sights to see, from the booing and ‘fire Carlyle’ chants to winning a game when trailing 5-1. What most fans could agree with is one of the greatest moments if not the greatest moment of this season.
What Would be Best This Offseason?
Sure, everyone has now come to terms with what happened last season, so the best thing to do during this offseason would be to forget, and in the great words of Taylor Swift, “Shake It Off.” Look forward, do not look back and wish on what could’ve happened. Instead, watch a very skilled Gulls hockey team or altogether forget about hockey this summer… Okay, I was joking. Turn on NHL, play on rookie, and just score 10,000 goals on whoever the frustration is on.
What About the Future?
The future looks to be very promising considering what is occurring in the AHL. The Gulls have taken a 2-1 series lead against the Chicago Wolves in a match that has, so far, been dominated by the San Diego. Kevin Boyle, doing what he does best, shutting out a team upon his return to the net.
San Diego, for the first time in the playoffs, was trailing the series 1-0 until the Gulls responded with a dominating game 2. This San Diego team has been a very careful group of players that look to be very promising for the ending of these playoffs. Max Comtois has been clicking for San Diego, Sam Steel has made plays almost every shift, and last but not least, Max Jones is showing speed and skill. This is the future. These young players are looking to lead the Gulls to the Calder Cup, and maybe in the near future, leading the Anaheim Ducks to Lord Stanley.
