On Monday night, the Anaheim Ducks, with a lot of help from their leading ladies, hosted the 12th annual Lady Ducks Fashion Show.

What happens when you dress the Anaheim Ducks in the latest collection from Bloomingdales? The Lady Ducks Fashion Show, of course. For the past 12 years, the leading ladies of our favorite hockey players have put on this annual fashion show to raise funds for CHOC Children’s Hospital with the help of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation.

This event, along with Dux n Tux, is the highlight of the Anaheim Ducks social season. With the wise leadership of Paige Getzlaf and Blakeny Perry, the Lady Ducks have certainly outdone themselves this year. The venue was immaculate, complete with a room filled to the brim with balloons.

A silent auction was set up for the attendees, giving them the opportunity to both benefit CHOC and possibly win fun Anaheim Ducks-themed items. To end the day, the Anaheim Ducks put on a luxurious fashion show complete with the latest from Bloomingdales, walking the catwalk like pros.

However, the grand finale, and the most anticipated moment of the event, stole the show. It reminded both the Ducks, as well as Ducks Nation, why this event is held every year. Each player, and their significant other, was paired with a child who has been helped by CHOC Children’s Hospital over the years.

For just a few moments, these children forgot about the ailments that plagued their bodies. They were “normal” children for the day, spending it with their favorite Anaheim Ducks like Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. They captured the hearts of everyone as they twirled, flossed, and pranced their way down the catwalk.

A fashion show may seem silly to some, but in the grand scheme of things, the Ducks do this for the children and their families. It gives CHOC the opportunity to hopefully someday find a cure for childhood diseases and provide the best care possible for families in such a difficult and heartbreaking time.

This is just another testament to how dedicated the Ducks are to their community, especially the children. They know how impactful these children will be in the future. The added bonus, these children will also be the future fans of the Anaheim Ducks, remembering everything the team did to help and support them during this difficult time in their lives.
