Good Bets

Put down some cash now and collect later.

Washington, 98.5 – Over. The Caps have almost the same team that won it all last May, they are at least a 100 point team. Ovie likes to celebrate too much for a big drop off.

More from Pucks of a Feather

Philadelphia 98.5 – Under. Unless the goaltending situation drastically changes, they don’t hit the mark.

Anaheim Ducks, 96.5 – Over. Read the article.

Florida, 94.5 – Over. This is a good team, possibly the surprise team in the NHL this year. Adding Mike Hoffman secures their spot in the Eastern Conference’s elite eight.

Los Angeles, 93.5 – Over. As much as it hurts Ducks Nation to consider, L.A. will challenge for the playoffs and that point total will be closer to 98 points.

Edmonton, 91.5 – Over. Connor McDavid, Leon Dreiseitl, et. al. are better than 91.5 points. Goalie Cam Talbot improves over last season’s mediocre performance.

Carolina, 84.5 – Under. If it wasn’t for Ottawa, the Canes would finish last in the east.

Arizona, 80.5 – Over. The Yotes are getting better. Antti Raantta is can lead them to mediocrity.

Buffalo, 79.5 – Over. Buffalo can’t be this bad again. There is too much talent on the roster to be under a point per game. Jack Eichel, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Rasmus Dahlin will be fun to watch.

dark. Next. Countdown to opening night - Josh Manson

All of these predictions are done in good fun. Your mileage may vary.
