Anaheim Ducks: Pucks of a Feather’s Early look at a busy August
August may be quiet at the Anaheim Ducks offices, but Pucks of a Feather has plenty to say over the next 31 days. We wanted to give our readers a small preview of what we have planned.
The last season ended in May for the Anaheim Ducks. The NHL entry draft was in late June, followed by the league’s free agent frenzy in July. August is usually the down month before training camps open in September. We don’t intend to give our readers any downtime. Pucks of a Feather has a big month planned. Here are some things you can expect in the next 30 days.
List Mania
The Ducks are celebrating their 25th anniversary season in 2017-18. We have started our commemoration with some all-time lists. That is going to continue in August. Some of what you will see includes:

Prospects
Currently, Ducks prospects Antoine Morand and Maxime Comtois are taking part are taking part in the World Junior Summer Showcase. We’ll keep you up to speed with how the “Ducklings” are doing in Kamloops, British Columbia. Two weeks later a few more of Anaheim’s young guns are scheduled to compete in the Hlinka Gretzky cup, a U-18 international tournament, in Alberta.
Expanding Horizons
Hockey 201, is one of our new features. We don’t want to insult our audience by trying to explain the basics of hockey. Instead, we want to go a step beyond that. Pucks of a Feather will have features on technique and strategy.
We will take a look at what our fellow Pacific Division rivals have done to improve their teams over the summer. Additionally, Pucks of a Feather will tackle some league-wide issues, such as rule changes before the puck drops in the exhibition season.
