Last night the Washington Capitals advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. They will faceoff against the Vegas Golden Knights. Pucks of a Feather our staff predictions on the outcome.

Chris Bushell

WSH vs VGS Stanley Cup finals: Two teams that I’ve been counting out all playoffs and two teams that keep proving me wrong all playoffs. Impressed that Vegas has made it this far and getting past the team I considered the best in the West in Winnipeg. But Washington has exorcised its own demons and has won all three series so far on the road. Think they can handle Vegas and Ovi realizes it’s now or never. Caps in six.

Ciara Durant

This is a hard one for me to predict. Especially because I think both teams deserve this. Nevertheless, I think Vegas will win it in game seven. I have doubted Vegas before and they’ve just proved they are a powerhouse.

These “misfits” have something to prove. Either way, both teams ought to be awful proud of themselves for defying the odds and expectations everyone has put on them and making it all the way to the playoffs.

Greg Johnson

There is no way the league is going to allow a first-year team to skate with the Cup, right? If this season has taught us anything, it’s that we don’t know as much as we think we do about what will happen.

More from Pucks of a Feather

It looks like we’ll have two monstrous goalies making save after save. In the end, this series will go seven games, because the league wants the extra revenue. Each game will have three or fewer goals scored. And the team that has a player from just about every town in the league will win the series in a game seven overtime. Vegas in 7.

Blake Navarro

This is going to be a real interesting Final. Both teams will be looking for their first Stanley Cup and will be playing their hearts out. I expect a six or seven game series with a ton of back and forth action. Alexander Ovechkin will finally have his moment in the Final. But ultimately it will be the Vegas Golden Knights who win this series in seven games.

Jacob Robles

I’m saying Caps in six. I just think they’ve really hit their stride. Ovi’s feeling it, Holtby is playing unreal. With that being said, it’s been hard for me to choose because I’ve been saying Vegas is gonna lose since the first round and they keep proving me wrong. Still, think Washington’s winning but its gonna be a fun one to watch

Ed Stein

All season long I have bet against the Vegas Golden Knights. My pessimism continued through the playoffs. I was wrong every time. So do I change course now?

Nope. VGK goalie Marc-Andre Fleury (aka Saint Marc-Andre of Sin City) is red hot, Ken Dryden hot. In the postseason he is 12-3, with a microscopic 1.68 GAA and .947 Save Percentage. Not far behind him is Caps goalie Brayden Holtby is 12-6, 2.04, and .923. That’s going to be good enough for Washington to hoist the Stanley Cup. Caps in six.

Next: Time for the Ducks to trade Jakob Silfverberg

It looks like we have a split decision 3-3. The good news is all of us expect a six or seven-game series. A win for all hockey fans.
