Anaheim Ducks Rant Week: Blake Navarro – Loyalty is Key

After last week’s playoff debacle, Anaheim Ducks fans want to rant. So do we. Each member of the Pucks of a Feather staff will have a day to express themselves. In the today’s faceoff circle is Blake Navarro.

You know what really grinds my gears? A bunch of things. But none more than bashing a player for being bad when they are having a rough season. Yes, sometimes it is frustrating, but bashing them for being “bad” always gets on my nerves.

Guess what? They still play professional hockey. So they are not “bad”. The player is still playing in the most competitive league in the world. Down years happen people. It happens to the best of them.

Now let’s talk about this team. Bringing back Randy Carlyle is a bad thing. The Anaheim Ducks are losing the fan’s trust. People will not be happy at all next season if he returns.

Every little move that Randy does will be looked at like it is under a microscope. Yes, Injuries at the beginning of the season and still making the playoffs saved his job, but his unwillingness to change his style of play killed this team in the playoffs.

Let’s all stop bashing this team. Next season will be a whole different team. So many of the older players will be gone, and personally, I’m ready for a younger and faster team.

Stop saying Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry need to be traded from the Anaheim Ducks. Let’s face it. You still love them. They’re still favorites deep down in your hearts. Also, no one, I repeat no one, will take on those contracts. Get used to it. The Twins will still be here.

I am personally on the side that GM Bob Murray is a great GM. I do not like keeping Carlyle though.  Many of you are upset that Murray didn’t make a move at the deadline, that’s understandable.

But can you blame him? Evander Kane went to San Jose for draft picks. That was a steal. Look at some other trades made at the deadline, they were ridiculous. Murray wasn’t going to blow up the system to get someone like Ryan McDoungh. I believe in Big Deal Bob. He’s done some great things for this club. Look at Adam Henrique this season alone.

One last thing, we as Ducks fans need to find a way to grow this fan base. This fan base will not grow if we continue to fight with each other. We are all Ducks fans and we all love this team. Let’s go Ducks!
