Corey Perry Has Missed Two Straight Practices – Nervous Yet?

Nagging injury?  Playoff maintenance?  We’ll find out today!

The Anaheim Ducks have ridden stars Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry to an 8-1 record and a spot in the Western Conference Finals during these 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and it’s safe to say that this team will continue to live or die based on how well its dynamic duo play against the Chicago Blackhawks.

News that Corey Perry has missed two consecutive practices, then, tends to scare the ever-living **** out of me.

It was one thing to hear that Perry has not participated in Tuesday’s practice; that was to be expected given the fact that he had been banged up a bit more than usual following Sunday’s Game 5 series-clinching win.  Hearing that the top scorer in these playoffs also sat out yesterday’s practice, however, made me want to leave work early, lie down in bed, and just cover myself with blankets and pillows and let the end of the world commence.

Dramatic, I know!

We all held our breath as Perry struggled to get off the ice during the second period of Game 5, and it has been suggested that he could be nursing an injury (most likely his knee) due to the collision he endured.

Of course, head coach Bruce Boudreau is not worried, and if he’s not worried, who am I to be on edge?

Word on the street has it that Perry will participate in practice today and should be good to go for Game 1 on Sunday.  I’ll be checking Twitter and the web to see if Perry is, indeed, out there, and whether he is showing any signs of being less than 100%.
