The NHL All-Star Weekend continues to roll on, with the NHL All-Star Skills Competition concluded. While the season is on a temporary hiatus, fans continue to miss watching their favorite teams play NHL games. It’s also a continued time to reflect on the terrific NHL season from October 8th until now. At Pucks of a Feather, we’ve done just that, deliberating on NHL awards ballots. On Thursday, we named our five-man Calder Trophy ballot for the NHL’s rookie of the year here, while yesterday, we continued with our three-man Jack Adams Award ballot for the coach of the year here.

Today is another day, so it’s time for another ballot. This time, we continue with our ballot for the Vezina Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s best goaltender. As always, I do not hold an official ballot, and these results are subject to change as the season goes on through April 11th. But there has been great goaltending this year from individual players.

Last season, Tuukka Rask took home his first Vezina Trophy, with a 36-15-6 record, 2.04 GAA, and .930 SV%. Those last two figures were the highest among full-time NHL starting goaltenders, while the wins were fifth in the league.

The actual ballot has three spots, so I will name three candidates who I believe should be on the ballot. However, I will recognize one honorable mention candidate as well. Let’s start with that honorable mention.
