Lovejoy left Sunday’s tilt after a fight with Sharks forward Joe Pavelski. Reports by Sportsnet and NHL Network analyst Kevin Weekes suggested that Lovejoy broke his hand during the tussle, but the Ducks confirmed that the injury was a fractured finger.
Earlier today, the Ducks recalled defenseman Josh Manson. Manson, 23, could see some action this week with Lovejoy out and Bryan Allen still recovering from a lower-body injury.
Lovejoy, 30, is in his third season in Anaheim after spending the first five years of his NHL career with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Last season, Lovejoy registered a career-high 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in 78 games. Nine games into the young 2014-15 campaign, Lovejoy has one assist.
