Defenseman Ryan Ellis and the Nashville Predators have come to terms on a five-year, $12.5 million contract. David Poile, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager of the Predators, announced the deal yesterday.

Ellis, 23, played in 80 games last season for Nashville. He collected six goals and added 21 assists for 27 points. In 144 career games, Ellis has tallied 44 points (11 G, 33 A).
During his successful four-year stint in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires, Ellis was drafted in the first round (11th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft. He’s also competed internationally as a member of Team Canada in the World Junior Championships and, more recently, at the 2014 World Championships in Belarus.
