The Ducks announced the injury yesterday and are hoping that Palmieri will be able to return to action for the preseason finale on Oct. 4 against the San Jose Sharks. If his recovery goes smoothly, Palmieri should be able to suit up for the Ducks’ season opener in Pittsburgh on Oct. 9.
Palmieri, 23, finished last season with 31 points (14 G, 17 A) in 71 games. Through 141 NHL contests, Palmieri has tallied 29 goals and 31 assists for 60 points.
