The Anaheim Ducks defeated the San Jose Sharks 5-4 in a shootout last night in the first of two Futures Games being played this weekend.
Nick Ritchie, the Ducks’ first round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, nailed the Sharks’ coffin shut as he netted his shootout attempt to give the Ducks the victory. Rickard Rakell and Nic Kerdiles also scored in the shootout.

It was a back-and-forth contest with plenty of ties and lead changes. Regulation goals for the Ducks were scored by Rakell, Max Friberg, Stefan Noesen and William Karlsson.
The Sharks were able to get tallies from John McInnis, Rylan Schwartz, Chris Tierney and Anthony DiFruscia.
We took to Twitter to see how Ducks fans felt about last night’s Futures Game, which was played in front of a sell out crowd at THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE.
The final Futures Game will be played tonight at 5:00 p.m. at Honda Center. The game will be streamed live on the Ducks official website.
