Perry’s spectacular 2010-2011 campaign earned him the Hart Trophy as well as the Rocket Richard Trophy.

After posting another stellar season in which he tallied more outstanding numbers (43 G, 39 A = 82 PTS) in 2013-2014, Perry has established himself as one of the elite forwards in the NHL.

But is Perry the best? According to NHL.com staff writers, he’s close.

With NHL.com revealing their preseason rankings by position, we’ve been taking a look at which Ducks players have made their lists. Recently center Ryan Getzlaf was ranked the eighth best center in the NHL for 2014-2015.

The right-winger pool is fairly stacked with big names such as Patrick Kane, Phil Kessel, Martin St. Louis and Marian Gaborik. But with the numbers that Perry puts up every season, it’s no surprise that he was included within that premium talent pool.

According to NHL.com staff writers, Perry is the second best right-winger in the NHL for the 2014-2015 season. He ranks only behind Washington Capitals right-winger Alex Ovechkin.

Below you’ll see the rankings from the NHL.com staff writers as well as mine.

What do you think of the rankings? Where would you slot Ducks’ right-winger Corey Perry?
