Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf had an impressive 2013-2014 campaign. The captain of the Ducks fell four points shy of his career-high (91) as he tallied 87 points, but he scored a career-best 31 goals and dished out 56 assists.
Getzlaf’s stellar season earned him a nomination for the Hart Trophy along with fellow centers Sidney Crosby and Claude Giroux. Crosby ultimately won the award, but that didn’t take anything away from Getzlaf’s performance last season.

At age 29 and entering his 10th season in the NHL, Getzlaf seems to be hitting his prime right on time as the Ducks appear determined to make another charge toward the Stanley Cup in 2014-2015.
With high expectations ahead for the Ducks next season, Getzlaf is ready to lead the way.
NHL.com has been ranking the best players at each position and Getzlaf is on the list of top centers in the game. However, it may not be as high as you would think following last year’s showing.
The Ducks captain was ranked the eighth best center in the league by NHL.com staff writers. That’s certainly a tough sell, especially considering the numbers he registered last season along with being a finalist for the Hart Trophy.
These rankings certainly don’t mean a thing. But it’s always fun to debate and create rankings of your own.
So below, you’ll find rankings from NHL.com as well as mine. Take a gander and we would love to hear how you would rank the best centers in the NHL.
