The Anaheim Ducks have lost defensemen Cam Fowler to injury, placing him on injured reserve and recalling top defensive prospect Shea Theodore
Coming off of a much needed win Sunday night, the Anaheim Ducks received some terrible news early Monday morning. Defensemen Cam Fowler will miss some time as he has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a sprained knee in the win against the Flyers.
The injury to Fowler occurred early on in the game as a Claude Giroux slash appeared to stumble the Ducks defensemen. It was a heated game and pleasantries were exchanged throughout but the Ducks will now be without one of their best defensemen for the foreseeable future.
An MRI will give more detail to the extent of Fowlers injury, but it appears that he and the Ducks medical staff knew right away that it was not good.

The Ducks AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, were set to drive back home from their game in Bakersfield late Sunday night but were forced to make a pit stop in Anaheim to drop off Shea Theodore who was officially recalled by the Ducks early Monday morning.
Theodore will accompany the Ducks on their three game Western Canadian road trip and Burce Boudreau has stated that the Ducks top defensive prospect could make his NHL debut at some point on the trip.
Fowler is set to be reevaluated at the end of this week and a timetable for his return should become more clear by the weekend.
One thing to keep in mind here is that Fowler missed three and a half weeks with a sprained knee ligament near the end of the 2013-2014 season. If that same timetable is set for this injury, the Ducks could be in trouble.
