Watch: Matt Beleskey Scores on the Beautiful Feed [Video]

The Anaheim Ducks have come out flying for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals, courtesy of Matt Beleskey!

Whew.

For those of you who just finished watching the first period of Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals between the Anaheim Ducks and the Calgary Flames, congratulations!   You have proven that you have good taste.

There’s nothing like NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs hockey – it’s fast, it’s physical, and because goals are so hard to come by, it is exciting as professional sports get.

The first twenty minutes of Game 2 were a perfect example -both the Ducks and the Flames came out flying.  Each time got to enjoy at least one power play, and the Ducks were the beneficiaries of a few Calgary defensive breakdowns.

Take for example the first and only goal of the game after twenty minutes.  Matt Beleskey scores off a gorgeous feed from Ryan Kesler on a 2-on-1 that left Flames’ goalie Karri Ramo a sitting, ahem, duck.

Enjoy:

That goal came just a few minutes after Kesler had beaten Ramo clean, but dinged his shot off the post.  There was no doubt about Beleskey’s beauty, though.  Ramo, who had to face 20 shots on goal in the first period, deserves a ton of credit for keeping the score at 1-0, but he had no shot whatsoever on this one.
