Well, mark it down as nine losses in a row for the Anaheim Ducks. The on-ice performance has spiraled from panic time into full blown meltdown. While the Ducks may have shown some fight and even offered a faint glimmer of hope in their last game against the Buffalo Sabres, the end result has been much of the same, another loss.
With only two wins in their past fifteen games, the Ducks have gone from first in the Pacific Division to sixth. Despite their abhorrent play though, the Ducks are only two points back of a wild card spot and only three points back of third place in the Pacific. On the strength of an early season hot streak, the Ducks have afforded themselves an opportunity to get back into the playoff race. But the clock is ticking.
Three stars of the week
Third star: Carolina Hurricanes fans
Though the Ducks may have lost in Raleigh earlier in the week, the Hurricanes fans are always respectful to us, when the Pucksofafeather family makes their annual pilgrimage to the Lenovo Center.
Second star: Jackson LaCombe
Almost every skater from the Ducks was a minus for the week, so LaCombe will get a pass with his -5. However, he did lead all Ducks skaters in points, with five. And even though all of LaCombe's points were assists, we have to look for the positives, even under bleak circumstances.

First star: Leo Carlsson
Not saying Carlsson was the best player for the week (no one honestly was), seeing the Ducks franchise center finally score a goal, was a relief for him and the fans. Carlsson had gone 12 games without scoring a goal, prior to the game against the Sabres.

Biggest Concern
Troy Terry's injury
Honestly, the biggest concern for the Ducks, would be everything, again. But that's become repetitive and disheartening. Terry's recent injury absence, however, is a bigger concern in a season that is now ripe with concerns.

Terry was ruled out, prior to the game against the Hurricanes and the lineups have been a mess since. While seeing Tim Washe getting a call up to the big club was a welcome sight, Terry brings so much more. Terry is second in points for the Ducks with 42 (13 goals, 29 assists) and plays in all situations. With a Ducks team that is sliding further and further down the standings, the impact of Terry's absence, only magnifies his importance to the team.
What's next?
The Ducks finally return home, with their collective tails between their legs. The Ducks resume action on Tuesday night, with a match against the Central Division and playoff contending Dallas Stars. Then it's a home and home split with the Los Angeles Kings, with very crucial divisional points on the line. Here's to hoping the Ducks can finally get on track, or else, the season might be lost.
