It was another cold weekend on the East Coast, but the Ducks returned home to sunny Anaheim for a divisional matchup with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The Ducks secured a 4-3 win, over their Pacific Division rival and temporarily moved up to the first wild card spot, in the Western Conference playoff race. The Ducks are just outside of the top three in the Pacific and only three points back for the division lead.

Cooking at home

Despite competing with a depleted forward group and securing three wins in their recent five game road trip, the Ducks took advantage of finally having a home game. The Ducks almost have a .500 record away from Honda Center (13-15-2), compared to a much more palatable 16-8-1 record at home. Be it the lineup flexibility of playing at home, the grind of a road heavy first half schedule, or the sheer randomness of the sport, but the Ducks have feasted on home ice. And the Golden Knights were their latest meal.

Reinforcements return

Troy Terry returned to the Ducks lineup, after missing the previous 11 games due to an injury. As did Mason McTavish, after missing the previous five. Terry was slotted on a line with Chris Kreider and Ryan Poehling, while McTavish was centering Jeffrey Viel and Cutter Gauthier.

McTavish did not show up on the scoresheet, but Terry did, notching two assists and having the primary on Poehling's empty net goal. Having two of their key skaters finally back in the lineup, not only provided a boost to the Ducks, but allowed the forwards to slot back into something resembling an optimal lineup, sans Leo Carlsson.

Collaboration with an icon

For the third year in a row, the Ducks partnered up with Vans to release a new Ducks-themed shoe. This time, Ducks icon Teemu Selanne got in on the collaboration process, after Carlsson and Lukas Dostal helped with their respective designs last year. Those of us who reside outside of So Cal, however, are envious of those lucky Ducks fans who could secure a pair.

Collaboration with an icon part two

Here's Mighty Ducks icon, Kenan Thompson reading the lineup because what's better than one icon? Two!

The Ducks will next host the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night, for their last game before the Winter Olympics break.
