The Anaheim Ducks started their summer with a bang as they acquired center Ryan Kesler from the Vancouver Canucks. The Ducks shipped Nick Bonino, Luca Sbisa and the No. 24 overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft to Vancouver to complete the deal for the 30 year-old American.

With Kesler now playing center behind Ryan Getzlaf, the Ducks finally have depth down the middle, something they lacked the past two seasons. Kesler is known as a solid two-way forward. He can shutdown opposing forward lines and is tenacious in the face-off circle.

Ducks fans have had the opportunity to watch Kesler many times over the years, especially last season as Anaheim and Vancouver were both slotted in the Pacific Division as a result of realignment.

Now that he’s no longer the bad guy, we were curious as to just how much trouble Kesler caused the Ducks during his tenure in Vancouver. For our Ducks Trivia question this week, we asked:

During his 10 seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, how many points did Ryan Kesler score against his current team, the Anaheim Ducks?

In 33 career games against the Ducks, Kesler tallied 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points.

Another interesting fact is that Kesler’s -18 rating against the Ducks is his worst against any team he’s faced during his career.

In 655 career games, Kesler has collected 182 goals and 211 assists for a total of 393 points. Kesler, a native of Livonia, MI., played for Team USA in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The 2014-2015 season will be Kesler’s 11th in the NHL and his first in Anaheim.
