Booth was placed on waivers by the Canucks as part of their rebuild. It is rumored he is in talks with the Ducks as wanting to rejoin Kesler in Anaheim. Booth was a solid player for the Florida Panthers and most thought his potential was diminished playing for a sub-par team in Sunrise.

The hope was he would explode with a better quality team in Vancouver. That never happened and it led to his buyout in Vancouver. Booth is an average player and who knows he could do well in Anaheim. However with the vast array of young talent the Ducks have and the feeling of winning now I don’t see where Booth makes much sense.

That cap money can be better served to find better defensemen and allow the young kids to grow and play with a veteran center man in Kesler. Hopefully Murray stays clear of Booth and puts that money to better use.
