Four Anaheim Ducks prospects will spend the next nine days in Vancouver B.C. with their respective countries playing in the World Junior Championship. Although we are rooting for all of them, only one team can win the gold.

The 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship is underway in beautiful Vancouver British Columbia. Ten different countries will be competing for the gold medal over the next nine days, including three countries with four Anaheim Ducks prospects.

Max Comtois, who spent the first part of the season playing for the Anaheim Ducks, will be representing team Canada again this season.

This year, he has earned the honor of representing the defending champions, Team Canada, as their captain. He is looking to make both Canada and the Anaheim Ducks proud by bringing home the gold.

Isac Lundestrom is on loan to from the Anaheim Ducks to represent his home country of Sweden. Lundestrom opted to say with the Ducks AHL farm team, the San Deigo Gulls, after his time in Anaheim.

Many are hoping that his performance in the IIHF World Junior Championships will be what he needs to build his confidence in the AHL.

Olle Eriksson Ek is returning to the IIHF WJC with team Sweden this year, alongside fellow prospect Isac Lundestrom. After the difficult 3-1 loss against Team Canada last year, in the gold medal game, his presence between the pipes is going to make him a key player for the young Swedish team.

Lucas Dostál is the final Anaheim Ducks prospect playing in the WJC this year. Representing the Czech Republic this year, he is sharing the duties between the pipes with two other outstanding goaltenders.
