The Anaheim Ducks have seemingly figured out what ailed them for much of the fall. But that doesn’t seem to matter to General Manager Bob Murray. The Ducks find themselves sitting in 2nd place in the Pacific Division but that didn’t stop the GM from putting this team on notice.

Just under a week ago the Anaheim Ducks extended the contract of Bob Murray another two seasons. This means Murray will be at the helm for the Ducks until at least 2021 and past that is anyone’s guess. That in and of itself should be a sign that ownership is telling Murray he better figure out a direction and figure it out fast. Because in the next two and a half years the Ducks better win a Cup or go into a re-build that will set the franchise up for the next decade plus. And if Murray’s comments are any indication he’s going for the former.

When asked about the Ducks Stanley Cup contender status Murray said;

"The goal is to get back to a point where we’re a true Stanley Cup contender. There are playoff teams and Stanley Cup contenders. We want to get back into contention to win a Stanley Cup. That’s what we’re talking about. I don’t think, at the moment, the way we’re playing, we’re a Stanley Cup contender. Every night you can’t get out-chanced. We have a lot of work to do, on and off the ice."

And on the addition of Daniel Sprong/teams goal scoring Murray added;

"Definitely actively looking to improve. Scoring is up in the game again. We brought in Daniel [Sprong] because he likes to shoot and score. That doesn’t mean we’re stopping there. We have to find ways to score more goals. It’s a problem. The power play is an issue, It’s on our minds big time."

Doesn’t mean we’re stopping there. Looks like Murray is looking at more trades to raise the clear power outage in the goals and powerplay department of this team. So with that said who is most likely on the block? Here are three Ducks whos wings could be clipped.

**Caveat, The order is of no significance just a 1-3. And the list is not players who I hope they trade but ones that could be on the block to bring back the scoring help the Ducks need. This isn’t NHL for Xbox, you need to give up to get**
