Usually, we do the monthly Anaheim Ducks mailbag on the fourth Friday of the month, but it was delayed, for editorial reasons. It may be a week late, but its here, now. You ask the questions and our Pucks of a Feather staff answers them.

Here are our last few mailbags: July 2018 June 2018May 2018, April 2018.

1) Who is a big sleeper to make the team out of camp in October?

Eddy Jones – For me, the big sleeper would be Max Jones. We haven’t been able to see a lot of him due to injuries in Junior and then injuring himself during development camp but I believe he may be the most NHL ready out of all the Ducks prospects.

Ciara Durant – This is a great question, and I don’t really have an adequate answer. I have heard some chatter about Troy Terry possibly moving up straight out of camp. I have mixed feelings. However, I don’t think this is a judgment call we can make until after camp is well underway and we’ve seen our “ducklings” in action.

If anyone does make it onto the team straight out of camp though, they’re definitely going to have to impress the socks off of the coaching staff. It’s been made clear that Randy Carlyle doesn’t like utilizing the younger, less experienced players. Hopefully, he’s had a change of heart and is willing to give at least one of them a chance.

Ed Stein – My big sleeper to make the team is Chase De Leo. He’s been a classic 4-A player in his career, not good enough to be a permanent NHL player, but a very good minor leaguer. Maybe getting traded to his hometown team will inspire him to take it up a notch in camp.

Chris Bushell – Don’t think there will be any “sleepers” but if pressed to pick a dark horse that makes the team I’d said Kalle Kossila. He has been producing in San Diego and if they want to give this kid a chance as a 4C I could be okay with it.

Jake Robles – I’m not entirely sure about a rookie making it straight out of camp, but I have to agree with what Chris said. If anything I think someone from San Diego gets the call.
