CALGARY, AB – APRIL 17: Hampus Lindholm /

Second Star – Hampus Lindholm

Lindholm is generally known as an all-around solid defenceman. This week he flexed his offensive muscle. The only Anaheim Ducks player to score in all three games, the Swedish superstar now has four points in his last four games.

Wednesday, he hammered home a one-timer off a nice pass from Rakell. Lindholm buried a wicked slap shot past Flames goalie Mike Smith like he knew it was going in the whole time. Its been somewhat rare to see Lindholm in an offensively aggressive mode, but it is welcome since the departure of Sami Vatanen.

He fired another heavy shot from the point Friday night 5:37 into the first period at Winnipeg. Again, it seemed like Lindholm was “feeling it” when he let the shot go. This time his slapper was tipped in by Derek Grant for the first goal of the game.

Sunday, he ran his point streak to four straight games. Lindholm doesn’t often join the rush but did this time. He picked up a loose puck to beat Edmonton Goalie Cam Talbot five-hole. The result was an OT game winner to cap off a 5-4 come from behind victory.
