It’s getting to that time of the season where it’s “Do or Die” and the Anaheim Ducks are about to kick off a huge 4 game homestand. The visiting St. Louis Blues start it off tonight at the Honda Center.

The Ducks

The Ducks are coming off a tough road trip in Nashville and Dallas. Anaheim will be coming into the game in 3rd place in the Pacific Division. Only one point behind the second place, San Jose Sharks. Rickard Rakell has been red hot, scoring 8 goals in his last 6 games. Ryan Getzlaf is starting to look like the Ryan Getzlaf that played in the second half of last season. Also, Corey Perry has looked like a new guy out there (He’s still good).

Rakell leads the team in points coming into the contest with 59. The 2018 All-Star has 30 goals and 29 assists, nine more points than Getzlaf who is second on the team in with 50 points. Getzlaf, in his last five games, has 2 goals and 10 assists. As result, their linemate Perry is starting to heat up as well. He has points in four of the last five games.

The Blues

The St. Louis Blues have been struggling to find consistency over the past month. Since February 11th, the Blues have gone 2-10-0.  Which once looked like a team destined for the playoffs, now find some questions if the team can even find a Wild Card spot. St. Louis comes in with 77 points, 8 points behind Minnesota for third place in the Central and 3 points behind Colorado, who currently hold the second Wild Card spot.

Blues superstar, Vladimir Tarasenko leads the team in points with 58. He’s found the back of the net 3 times in the last 5 games. Blues’ center Brayden Schenn is second with 57 points. St. Louis is coming off a huge win over Los Angeles on Saturday. They broke out for seven goals in route to a 7-2 win over the Kings.

The Battle

Monday’s game will be the third meeting between the two clubs, the first in Anaheim. The Ducks took both games in St. Louis by scores of 3-2 and 3-1.

*Note – Pucks of a Feather would like to welcome Blake Navarro to our team.
