I was so impressed by the play of Andrew Cogliano during the Ducks-Winnipeg Jets series that I started to chant “Cogliano for President” whenever he did something right – which was often.

Apparently I was not the only one who noticed number 7, as staff writer Chris Bushell nominated Cogs for his MVP Not Named Perry or Getzlaf award:

"Without a doubt Cogliano: I believe his pick-pocket of Gaudreau and goal in Game 4  turned the tide in that game and allowed the Ducks to win and then finish off the series in Game 5. 3-1 and 2-2 are vastly different and especially for a team like Calgary squishing their hope was key. His speed has given opposing D fits and allowed the Ducks to get in on their forecheck game. He’s a threat to make things happen every time he’s on the ice and it’s one more piece of depth that Ducks have. His skill set gets the team and fans excited. There’s an added buzz when he has the puck and he isn’t afraid to mix it up in the corner and along the boards. He won’t get the story lines in this series because of all the star power but he could be key to the Ducks winning this series and the Cup!!!"

I can’t argue with Chris’ logic.  Enjoy these two videos of Cogliano and then head to the next slide for our second nominee.
