Anaheim Ducks vs. Chicago Blackhawks Schedule Favors the Unemployed and People With Unlimited Data Plans

You didn’t want to watch these games, did you?

Coming to a DVR near you: the Western Conference Finals between the Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks!

The NHL has released the full schedule for the Western Conference Finals, and I sure hope all you Anaheim Ducks fans are either

A. Unemployed;

B. Owners of unlimited data plans; or

C. Not really interested in watching the first period, ever.

That’s because the start time for the games range between noon (this Sunday) and 6 p.m. Pacific Coast time, with four potential 5 p.m. starts scheduled (two of which are guaranteed).

Here – see for yourself:

Game 1 at Anaheim Sunday noon

Game 2 at Anaheim Tuesday 6 p.m.

Game 3 at Chicago Thursday 5 p.m.

Game 4 at Chicago May 23 5p.m.

*Game 5 at Anaheim May 25 6 p.m.

*Game 6 at Chicago May 27 5 p.m.

*Game 7 at Anaheim May 30 5 p.m.

* If necessary

The noon start this Sunday is a bit early, but hey – it’s Sunday!  Take pains to minimize your Saturday night hangover and get yourself out of bed.

The 5 p.m. puck drops, though, are tough.  I know Chicago is in the Central Time Zone, so those 5 p.m. starts are 7 p.m. in Chi-town, but the NHL could have at least pushed those times back a half an hour, as we have the phrase “9 to 5” for a reason.

No sense in whining – the NHL didn’t ask any of us for our opinion!  If you want to catch the Anaheim Ducks on the road in Chicago, your best bet is to either stay home from work that day or make sure your data plan can handle streaming a few games live at the end of the work day!
