The Ducks now know who their next foe will be!
The wait is over, Anaheim Ducks fans – although to be honest, it’s not look it took that long, or is much of a surprise.
Down three goals, the Flames, who had the third-most third period comebacks in the NHL this season, found a way to rally and pulled away with a few empty-netters late, en route to a 7-4 series clinching victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
Check out the game six highlights below:
This sets up an interesting match-up between two teams who have made a name for themselves by staging late-game heroics during both the regular season and these playoffs. We’re in store for a series in which no lead is safe, which means there is no good time to get up fix yourself a snack or sneak in a potty break – I wouldn’t be surprised if one of these teams managed to find a way to score during the intermissions!
Ha ha!
While Vancouver probably presents less of a challenge for the Anaheim Ducks, it should be noted that the Ducks went 3-1-1 against both the Canucks and the Flames during the regular season.
Which means absolutely nothing, of course: this is the Stanley Cup Playoffs we’re talking ’bout. Anything can happen.
We here at Pucks of a Feather will begin breaking down the Ducks – Flames series soon, so check back in with us and make sure you follow us @pucksofafeather if you’re not already!
