1. Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry – Perhaps You’ve Heard of Them?

Gosh, I hate to start this list out with a Captain Obvious moment – but come on.

You name it, these two guys have won it.

World junior championship?  Check.

Olympic gold medals?  Check.

Lord Stanley’s Cup?  Checkmate.

In order to avoid coming across as totally biased, I won’t call Getzlaf and Perry the BEST 1-2 punch in the NHL . . . but any such debate that doesn’t include these two guys loses all credibility. Anaheim went 30-8-2 this season when one or both of these guys scored a goal.  Filthy.

And even though every team in the NHL knows they have to try and shut Getzlaf and Perry down if they hope to win against the Ducks, that’s a case of easier said than done:

"One Eastern Conference coach contacted Monday morning and asked how to control Perry and Getzlaf snorted at the question. “Ha. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it. Think of basketball. The best guys are going to get their points. But you want to make it hard on them . . . .”"

If the best the opposition can do is make it tough, but not impossible, for Getzlaf and Perry to get their points, there’s going to be a huge party in Anaheim, California this June.
