Second Star: Rickard Rakell, C (1 A, 4 SOG, 3 Hits, 17:15 TOI)

Rakell played a terrific game, centering the third line with Cogliano and Jakob Silfverberg. He was ultra-aggressive along the boards and seemed to generate shot opportunities and offensive zone pressure whenever he was on the ice. He started the game strong and continued to be a factor throughout. Because of this, Bruce Boudreau rewarded Rakell with 17:15 of ice time, by far his season high and second to Kesler among Ducks forwards. Rakell is getting another look at the NHL level with Perry out three to four weeks and Devante Smith-Pelly being moved back to right wing. If Rakell keeps this level of play up, he can make his case as to why he deserves to stay in Anaheim this time around.
