The captain did everything for the Ducks. He factored in all three goals that turned the deficit from 5-1 to 5-4, recording either a primary assist or goal on each. He seemingly willed the team back, winning key faceoffs and helping dictate the pace of play (14 shot attempts for, 10 against during 5-on-5 play). Getzlaf, too, had struggled in his previous six, scoring a goal and assist while having a -5 rating. If Getzlaf can turn this performance into the type of effort that made him a runner-up in the Hart Trophy voting last season, then the Ducks will be better for it as well.
