First Star: Emerson Etem, LW/RW (1 G, +1, 3 SOG, 75.0 CF% (5-on-5), 16:08 TOI)

Etem put together another fantastic outing after his great effort on Wednesday against the Kings, getting his second goal of the season. Yes, he was on the top-line with Getzlaf, but Etem put forth the effort. He created numerous scoring chances with his speed and presence on the forecheck: the Ducks had 24 shot attempts with Etem on the ice at 5-on-5 play, as opposed to only eight shots against.

Etem’s roster spot on the Ducks was in question, as he had simply not been producing on the fourth line with Nate Thompson and Tim Jackman. However, his boost to the top-six has shown what the Ducks and many fans had expected of the Long Beach native: speed and energy on offense. Perry and Kyle Palmieri are near returning, but Etem may have earned himself a longer look on the Ducks’ roster with his play, especially on Saturday.
