First Star: Andrew Cogliano, LW (4 Hits, 1 Blocked Shot, 3 Takeaways, 18:37 TOI)

Cogliano was tremendous for Anaheim, playing a major role for the team when shorthanded. He created numerous chances while shorthanded, including a great attempt for Jakob Silfverberg after taking the puck from Spezza in the first period. Cogliano flew around the ice and helped in all the areas the Ducks needed to be strong in to come out with a win: he led the team in hits and takeaways while playing 3:33 shorthanded, second among Ducks forwards to Silfverberg. That duo was integral in shutting down Dallas’ strong power play, so Cogliano gets the first star for this game.
