Patrick Maroon suffers lower-body injury against Sabres

Anaheim Ducks forward Patrick Maroon suffered a lower-body injury on a hit from Buffalo Sabres defenseman Josh Gorges at the 11:10 mark of the second period in today’s game. Maroon had to be helped off the ice and was evaluated in the locker room.

Maroon was skating along the boards, looking to enter the Buffalo zone when Gorges threw a hip check that slammed Maroon against the boards.

He will not return to action against the Sabres and his status remains unclear for tomorrow’s contest against the Philadelphia Flyers.
