To say the past two seasons the Anaheim Ducks have had phenomenal regular seasons may be putting it lightly. In that span (which includes the shortened season of 12-13’) the Ducks won 84 out of a total 130 games. Those 84 wins culminated in two straight Pacific Division titles and high playoff seeds.
Unfortunately those high playoff seeds have not led to success in the post-season. The Ducks have suffered heartbreaking Game 7 losses to Detroit in 13’ and Los Angeles in 14’. Those results prompted General Manager Bob Murray to make a number of moves that make the Ducks tougher, more talented, and ready to be contenders once again.
But looking good on paper and being good on the ice are two completely different things. Players like Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry will always show up and lead by example but the Ducks need others to play at All-Star levels as well. So the following are 5 players that need to perform for the Ducks to truly become elite and bring a second Stanley Cup to Anaheim.
