Youth is always a good thing to have on teams but you need proven stars to get you to a Stanley Cup. So the Anaheim Ducks and GM of the Year Bob Murray made a blockbuster deal as they sent Nick Bonino, Luca Sbisa and two draft picks to Vancouver to acquire Ryan Kesler.
Kesler is a star that will fill the Ducks hole at second line center. He will bring toughness in the defensive end and make the Ducks a better possession team. He also should be able to thrive in a new environment and in Bruce Boudreau‘s much more open offense. This includes helping a power play that looked anemic at times throughout the season and for stretches in the post-season.
So with the second line center role firmly filled, the question is who will flank Kesler? Will the Ducks go with players already in the line-up or are some UFAs on their way to Anaheim to play with Kesler?
Here are a few different ways the Ducks could go.
