The Ducks kept adding to their size when the second round began as they scooped up Marcus Pettersson (6’3) with the 38th overall pick.

Pettersson, a native of Sweden, was an assistant captain with Skelleftea’s junior squad last season. He finished with 18 points as he potted four goals and added 14 assists.

The young Swede was also a member of Sweden’s U-17 hockey team which won the gold medal in 2013.

His slim frame could be seen as a weakness according to one scout, but another says his upside is tremendous.

"“He has some of the most upside in his game of anybody this year. He covers a lot of ice and has some bite in his game. He moves the puck well and can play on the power play too.”"
