Perry played in all but one of the 82 regular season games and once again led the Ducks in goals with 43. Those 43 goals were also good enough for second place in the entire NHL behind only Alex Ovechkin’s 51 goals.

Perry also added 39 assists for a total of 82 points. His point totals also ranked high, second on the Ducks behind Getzlaf’s 87 points and fifth in the NHL.

Perry will always light the lamp and also seems to have a flair for the dramatic. Not only does he score acrobatic goals (looking at you Islanders) but he seems to come alive in the late stages of games. Nine of those 43 goals were game-winners which means when it comes down to needing a goal the Ducks look to Perry.

One of those game winners was scored at just about the latest point in a game. On Jan. 5 the Ducks were home for a game against now division rival Vancouver. In a game that saw the Ducks trail the whole contest, Nick Bonino knotted things up with just 1:27 to go. In overtime it was Perry’s time to shine. On a power play the afore mentioned Bonino stopped a clearing attempt at the red line with just six seconds left. He threw it cross ice to Getzlaf at the Canuck blue line and Getzlaf slipped a pass through to Perry for the game winner with o.6 seconds left in OT.

This play encapsulates how clutch Perry can be and how when it matters getting the puck to Perry is never a bad idea. Perry always brings it and is a big reason why in the past couple of seasons the Ducks have had amazing regular seasons and secured high playoff seeds.
