This season has certainly been the best season of Fowler’s career thus far, but I wouldn’t say this has been a complete breakthrough of a season either. As a whole this season is more of a step in the right direction than a breakthrough.

Fowler’s stepped up his game this year, but he’s still young and has room to improve. Confidence with the puck is the biggest area in which he can improve his game, especially on the power play. More than anything confidence comes with time and experience which he’s getting plenty of with this team.

If Fowler can step up his game to the next level he can be an integral part of the Ducks’ back end in much the same way Duncan Keith or Drew Doughty are to their respective teams. Fowler has the skills, now he just needs to put them to good use.
