Chicago Blackhawks Force Game 7 Against LA Kings

The New York Rangers will have to wait another day to find out who they will meet in the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals as the Chicago Blackhawks staved off elimination once again in Game 6 as they defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 at the Staples Center.

After heading into the third frame with a 2-1 lead, the Kings scored two consecutive goals to take a 3-2 advantage. But the Blackhawks came right back to tie it.

Patrick Kane was the hero as his wrist shot past fellow American Jonathan Quick proved to be the game-winner. It was Kane’s second of the contest as he scored a power play goal early in the second period.

With the Kings desperately looking to force overtime, Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford stood his ground, making numerous clutch saves as he turned away the final push from Los Angeles to preserve a Game 6 victory.

The series now shifts back to Chicago for Game 7 Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. ET.
