It was an injury-riddled season for Robidas. He fractured his leg while playing for the Stars and it happened again when he put on a Ducks jersey. Despite another harsh injury to the same limb, Robidas was able to avoid surgery.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much of the steady defenseman but he played well when he was in the lineup.

The 13-year veteran was in the last year of his four-year, $13.2 million contract that he signed with the Stars. He is now an unrestricted free agent.

It remains to be seen whether or not Ducks general manager Bob Murray will bring back the 37 year-old Robidas.

With young Sami Vatanen and Luca Sbisa ready to claim their place in one of the Ducks’ defensive pairs, it appears that Robidas will have a short career as an Anaheim Duck.
