Anaheim Ducks Daily: 3/24/14

Good Morning Anaheim Ducks fans! How was that win last night?! I hope you are out smiling in full force today and letting the world know how much you love the Ducks!

Last night the Ducks got a much needed win at home to end an ugly skid. The Florida Panthers were the recipients of the Ducks unleashing their frustrations from their goal drought. Patrick Maroon got the Ducks on the board first but then left the game with an injury.

In an exciting turn of events, Sami Vatanen was dressed and playing last night before the announcement was even released that the Ducks had recalled him. Vatanen suffered a knee injury in his last stint with the Norfolk Admirals and while he remained assigned to the AHL club, he was in Anaheim with doctors working on his knee. Maybe Vatanen is more important to the NHL club than most realize?

The Ducks’ 3-2 loss to the San José Sharks forced the name at the top of the Pacific Division and the Western Conference. Maybe this switch lit a fire under the Ducks. Maybe this is exactly what the Ducks needed to give them a push through to the end of the regular season. As the last push is made on the season, the Ducks hold a game in hand over the Sharks with only a one point difference in the standings. Things could be more interesting as the St. Louis Blues became the first team in the Western Conference to clench a playoff berth. The Chicago Blackhawks are also in the hunt for the top of the standings. All those teams are behind the league leaders from the Eastern Conference; the Boston Bruins

There is your daily news roundup. Get out there and show your team spirit and let everyone know who you root for! The Ducks have time to right the ship, and make a strong push in their final push of the season. It’s going to take a lot of work if they want to be back at the top but they have the ability to do it, as long as they stay healthy!
