NHL Trade Deadline Moves 3/5/14

Today is a BIG day in the NHL. It’s the NHL Trade Deadline day. We plan to keep you updated on all the moves, as they occur and as we can verify and confirm them. This post will be continually updated with all moves not just the Anaheim Ducks. So let us know what you’d like to see, what you’d hate to see, and how you feel about what other teams are doing. The first trade of the day:

-New York Rangers send Ryan Callahan, a 2015 first round pick, and a conditional 2014 second round pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Martin St. Louis.

If Callahan resigns with the Lightning, the Rangers receive a pick in return.

-The Edmonton Oilers trade Ales Hemsky to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2014 fifth round draft pick anda 2015 third round draft pick. Oilers retain 50% of Hemsky’s salary. Viktor Fasth just cost the Oilers a defensemen in a round about way.

-The Los Angeles Kings send Brayden McNabb and two second round draft picks to the Buffalo Sabres for Hudson Fasching and Nicolas Deslauriers.

-The Nashville Predators send Devan Dubnyk to the Montreal Canadiens for future considerations.

-The Los Angeles Kings send Matt Frattin, a second round draft pick and a conditional third round draft pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Marian Gaborik.

-The Florida Panthers trade Marcel Goc to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a third round draft pick and a fifth round draft pick.

-The New Jersey Devils trade Andrei Loktinov and a conditional 2017 third round pick to the Carolina Hurricanes for Tuomo Ruutu.

-The Florida Panthers trade Tim Thomas to the Dallas Stars for Dan Ellis.

-The Edmonton Oilers trade Nick Schultz to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a fifth round draft pick.

-The Philadelphia Flyers trade Andrej Meszaros to the Boston Bruins for a third round draft pick.

-The New York Rangers trade a fifth round draft pick to the Vancouver Canucks for Raphael Diaz.

-The Calgary Flames trade Reto Berra to the Colorado Avalanche for a 2014 second round draft pick.

-The Nashville Predators trade David Legwand to the Detroit Red Wings for Patrick Eaves, Calle Jarnkrok, and a third round draft pick.

-The New York Islanders trade Thomas Vanek to the Montreal Canadiens for Sebastien Collberg and a second round draft pick.

-The Buffalo Sabres trade Matt Moulson and Cody McCormick to the Minnesota Wild for Torrey Mitchell and a draft pick. More to come.

-The Buffalo Sabres trade Jaroslav Halak and a 2015 third round draft pick to the Washington Capitals for Michal Neuvirth and Rostislav Klesla.

-The Anaheim Ducks trade Alex Grant to the Ottawa Senators for Andre Petersson.

-The Calgary Flames trade Lee Stempniak to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a third round pick.
