Welcome back to NHL mode Anaheim Ducks’ fans. With the Olympic Games completed we turn back to home ice and the quest for The Cup. It’s been roughly two weeks since the Olympic break started, while there was a roster freeze in effect, it didn’t stop the powers that be from talking.

Returning from the Olympics, are medals of each color. Gold goes to Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf, silver to Jakob Silvferberg, and bronze to Teemu Selanne and Sami Vatanen. With Cam Fowler on the fourth place finishing, Team USA, the Ducks are the only NHL team who had representatives on every team in the medal games.

During the Olympic break, Viktor Fasth returned to action with the Norfolk Admirals. The result was not the desired outcome for a game, but for his first time back in net it helped him gauge where he is and where he needs to go next. The Admirals split their games this weekend with a loss to the Albany Devils and a win over the Springfield Falcons.

The immediate concern for every hockey fan and club is the rapidly approaching trade deadline. The Ducks need defensemen badly and there has been no discussion regarding an extension with Jonas Hiller. Ducks’ brass did say Hiller isn’t going anywhere but there is good reason to wonder.

There you have it Ducks’ fans. We are back and we are ready to roll! Let’s get things going and get back in the “W” column!!
