It was expected at some point, but not quite sure when, but the Anaheim Ducks have finally unveiled their 20th anniversary logo. It was debuted by the Ducks’ first round pick, Shea Theodore, at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft on Sunday as a patch on the chest of his jersey. It’s a simple #20 with the Ducks logo and a banner with “1993” and “2013” emblazoned on it. I had been looking forward to this and to what the Ducks were going to do to celebrate their 20th for quite some time. To be honest, I was a little disappointed with their design. It’s almost a complete copy of the logo that the Ottawa Senators used to celebrate their 20th anniversary recently.

Also, the Ducks have announced that their will be events all season long at Honda Center celebrating 20 years of the franchise. They will try to honor the great moments of the past and will be selling retro merchandise all season long. Early on in the regular season, they will host a throwback night at Honda Center to pay homage to the inaugural season, 1993-1994. Now, what will the throwback night entail???? I think I would lose control of myself if they wore the old Mighty Ducks white uniform just for that night. That is arguably my favorite jersey I’ve ever seen. However, I don’t know what the chances are of that happening, probably not very high. The Ducks will make more announcements on their events on a later date.
