The Binghamton Senators handed the Admirals their 4th loss of the season Friday night in Binghamton, New York defeating the Admirals 4-2.  Binghamton’s Corey Cowick netted the game’s 1st goal at the 3:11 mark scoring off his own rebound for his 2nd goal of the 2012-2013 campaign.  Senators’ Andre Petersson sniped the puck past Bobkov on the power play to give the B-Sens a two goal lead with 7:26 gone in the 1st.    The Senators saw the lead grow to 3-0 as Andre Benoit feathered the puck past Bobkov late in the opening period.  The Senators outshot the Admirals 15-9 in the period.

That was all she wrote for Igor Bobkov as Frederik Andersen came out to start the 2nd period.  The change in goal was not enough to stop Binghamton as Derek Grant scored his 2nd goal of the season just minutes into the 2nd period. Grant’s goal was a rare breakaway shorthanded goal.  Grant’s goal stretched the Senators lead to 4-0.  Patrick Maroon made it 4-1 on the power play tipping in a Gabe Guentzel shot early in the second period.  Norfolk’s Guentzel picked up his 1st pro point assisting on Maroon’s 5th tally of the season.

Norfolk’s Brandon McMillan scored his 1st goal of the campaign to rally the troops within 2 goals midway through the final period; however; that was not enough as the Senators defeated the visiting Norfolk Admirals.  Norfolk outshot Binghamton 33 to 27 in the loss.  The Senators were successful on 1 out of 5 power play opportunities. The Admirals cashed in on only 1 of their 7 power play chances.
